Re: eNews Issues - Request for Data

Hi

If I am meant to be receiving the enews(?), I haven't received any- nothing in my spam folder either!

Do I need to do anything here?

Re: Hello from Norfolk

Many thanks for the warm welcome and delighted to be here!

SpikyMike, I unfortunately do not have a greenhouse as I live in a flat with no garden or balcony. So I am severely confined to a small space in one room at the moment, but at least it is a sunny room!

Re: January 2019 - My Favourite Plant(s)

Hi~ I can't really say I have a favourite. But perhaps my current "star" is this later flowering Christmas cactus, which I found just over a year ago in a charity shop. I wasn't too sure of what its fate would be as it smelled of damp and had some moss on it. So I got it to dry out and rem...

Hello from Norfolk

Hi~ After being a registered guest, I have finally joined you all! I am a complete newby and my disparate collection consists mainly- though not exclusively- of plants that have been rescued. I look forward to learning more and all being well, attending the local branch meetings. Best Wishes, Leandra

Re: When to start watering again

Thankyou all very much for your replies. I appreciate it. Perhaps I should have made it clear that I wasn't actually told November is when to stop watering. I am(accidentally!) new to this game and had somehow managed to collect a few cacti  and inadvertently discovered in November that they ...

When to start watering again

Hi~

I have not watered my cacti since November (as advised) now and meanwhile, they have all been moved from their original peat bindings into more fitting compost and had time for their roots to heal.

When should I start watering them? All are currently bone dry.

Re: Cacti featured in Woman's Weekly March 14th

Ha ha, it's most certainly not one of my regular reads either...and I mean that! I saw enough for a lifetime when my Mum was alive! So it was just pure chance that I discovered it as I was simply thumbing through a few different magazines to get a general idea of what reading material people a...

Cacti featured in Woman's Weekly March 14th

I just thought I would mention that there is an article featuring cacti in the present issue of Woman's Weekly (March 14th) on the shelves now. I spotted it whilst having a quick flick through the magazine but haven't read it as such; but it shows a few different varieties of cacti, which is good to...

Re: Latest rescue mission

Many thanks for that link Keith. It does indeed look like a most excellent book and I will endeavor to look it out in due course. I think it is wise to always remember that our scientific knowledge is only as good as the tools with which we can measure phenomena and ultimately, the history of scient...
