these tentacle can take root like any other normal Euphorbia. But they will spent their entire life stay as single tentacle and not grow into medusa-like plant. I heard that if you cut these rooted tentacle from base the new spurt from stump has chance become medusa-like . Never tried personally tho...

The first one look like Echinocereus to me. You can check it's ovary. Echinocereus has spiny ovary and Lobivia has hairy wooly ovary. Echinocereus has plenty of dioecious speciese. It's not too strange to see a Echinocereus has only male or female part. Mostly Echinocereus coccineus related species....

22 month has past. these little guy prove to be particular problematic . Only 5 remain on own root. The grafted one are not doing well either. Pereskiopsis provide a huge early push,but once it shade all leaf .Pereskiopsis lost most of the juicy and momentum. These graft on Pereskiopsis grow rapidly...

most plant virus can't transmit via seed.
theoretically the seedling should be healthy.

RSM is not an insect. Neonicotinoid did not affect them.
