Re: Pygmaeocereus
They are little plants, but they will grow into a big clump given plenty of time, this one is bursting out of an 8" pot and is over 30 years old.

Re: Are you going to water your cacti
Hi, I tend to water late in the day, as the Sun is going down. This gives the water time to reach the roots? and the plants time to take it up, but it may not work that way. Mel. I believe that it is high night time temperatures that cause cacti to shut down, not high day time temperatures, so it w...

This place has 5l for £162, but I pay 14.99 for 500ml on Ebay so I don't think it's much of a bargain.

Re: A Tea Tray of Strombocactus
Hello Tina, In my experience Strombocactus are quite variable in tubercle size and shape, look a these two, similar to the ones in your picture, but the one on the left is the parent of the one on the right.

Re: A Tea Tray of Strombocactus
I don't know Ralph, but the one mid right has a dead growing point, and now has about a dozen small offsets 1-2cm across, and they all flower but with little flowers. And of course the crest has lots of tiny flowers. I bought the one in the clay pot from Abbey Brook in the 1980's and it's the parent...

Re: Stopping Ariocarpus flowering
It does seem strange that they say that you can't list Ariocarpus plants on Ebay, I have some of them on my Ebay watch list, and there are plenty of other Cites 1 plants for sale as well. The only plants they normally clamp down on are Lophophoras, and some of the Europeans list them as Ariocarpus t...

Re: Brexit deal and imports
I made a post earlier in this thread about a plant I ordered on Jan 1st from Poland. Well it arrived safely yesterday, I paid 20% vat at point of sale on Ebay, but no phyto was involved. In my experience 3 weeks is about par from Poland, as the seller didn't post it until last Monday, is this just l...
