Re: Big-flowered Copiapoa

Hi Ray
Heres one of mine grown from habitat seed I collected in the Botija valley, I think Tinas is from this location too.
However C.atacamensis seed I've sown from Cerro Moreno, Antofagasta much further north were much spinier plants.

Re: What did you do with all that water?

Also vacuumed my greenhouse and potting shed floors today, looks lovely now :) I've just been out this evening and covered the open door with mesh, its apparently a very warm 17C overnight where I am. Re: Winter losses

This winter was unusual for me in that I had no losses at all (usually theres a couple) and particularly because I also had a heating problem this year. I keep my greenhouse heated to around 6C over winter, but had a thermostat failure this year, it was for one night only but the greenhouse did drop...

I use a small electric steam cleaner and this does get into the small nooks and crannies. These are great, we have one that we use around the house, particularly on the windows...

I had similar problems with an Eriosyce aurata, just couldn't get it going again.

Re: Hormone rooting powders - advice

I don't use rooting powders myself, but am also interested too in other peoples results.
Personally I get roots going in pure cat litter only (mainly Copiapoa though)
^ What is it that you have been trying to root and how ?
