Re: Any concerns with these species in unheated greenhouse?

The Gasteria might be worth trying in the greenhouse if you need to. I've only ever grown common ones and found that they might not look great but they can survive.

Re: Aeonium propagation question

I've never tried Aeonium leaf cuttings but a few months ago I planted some leaves of one of their relatives, Aichryson tortuosum. The plantlet is so cute.

Re: BCSS Forum Seed Pool

I got my seeds today, thanks. I got an interesting selection of stuff so I'm looking forward to growing them. I also sent some in collected from my own plants, some Anacampseros, Avonia, Lithops and Rebutia/Mediolobivia.

Re: Lots of 3 lobed Lithops lesliei

I only planted about 30 seeds from the capsule and saved the rest, maybe I should plant some more and see how many I end up with. I had neglected my plants for several years and then started making more of an effort again at the start of 2017, so the parent plant could still have been stressed when ...

Lots of 3 lobed Lithops lesliei

I planted some Lithops lesliei seeds collected from one of my plants and about 10 of them have 3 lobes instead of 2, about a third of the seedlings. I thought it was the kind of thing that would happen to the odd one, is there a reason there are so many with 3 leaves?

Re: Rebutia species rooting - advice please!

Good to see your plant is growing roots already. I love it when plants are really keen to not die.

The problem I have had with my hollowed-out Rebutia is that the cavity is a great hiding place for mealy bugs!

Re: How often to water caudiciforms?

You posted about a Dioscorea elephantipes that had lost its roots last year; did you manage to get it to grow them again? I bought one cheap at a plant sale that has dead roots and I've read it can be tricky to get them to regrow.

Re: Rebutia species rooting - advice please!

A couple of years ago I noticed that a small single-headed plant of Rebutia krainziana had rotted at the base, and then upon closer inspection I realised the middle of the plant had too. I scraped out all the mushy stuff and left the hollowed-out cactus under the bench in my greenhouse to callus ove...

Re: Good service

I've possibly bought a million plants from Ralph now and they're great.
