I spotted a hoverfly on the plant today! It was on it for ages, I put the plant outside until it had flown away so it didn't get stuck in the greenhouse.

Re: John (Duns) saying hello
Hi! I have just started attending Leeds branch meetings again. I think the branch has a few members who are quite new or are returning to the hobby.

Re: mystery succulent (Dudleya?)
This picture has been posted by the BCSS instagram account named as Dudleya attenuata and has flowers like mine, but with the leaves not in focus (although they look powdery). https://www.instagram.com/p/BZDyp17l31x/?taken-by=bcss_cactusworld My plant doesn't have many flowers bunched together so I ...

Re: mystery succulent (Dudleya?)
I can't find many pictures of Dudleya flowers online, but albiflora flowers seem to be less open ,as well as being all white, so the flowers are probably too different. Some pictures of Dudleya attenuata look to have similar leaves, but this seems to be a variable species and some look quite differe...

Re: mystery succulent
Sorry, I didn't realise the leaves were so out of focus. I'd taken a better photo and left it on my camera. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4431/36414990533_162e79bcfb_z.jpg mystery succulent by Kathy , on Flickr The leaves have a powdery texture. I'm wondering if it is a Dudleya, but they're not som...

Re: September 2017 - Cacti and succulents in the rain
I tried taking photos the other day when it was raining and my plants don't seem to get rained on attractively.

mystery succulent (Dudleya?)
does anyone know what this is? I think I grew it from seed years ago and the label is lost. I have so many plants with lost or faded labels, but this is one I don't even know the genus of. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4379/36781086630_890863af19_z.jpg mystery succulent by Kathy__ , on Flickr thanks

Re: Bowiea volubilis
I always thought Bowiea volubilis was a winter grower, but reading online it seems it varies. I'm expecting mine to start growing anytime now.

Re: bonsai Fouquieria
What a magnificent flower. I have some I grew from seed maybe 10 years ago and I wasn't really expecting them to flower ever but maybe they will if I wait long enough.

Re: New plants
I've bought quite a few plants from Wilko this year. I am rebuilding a neglected collection so a lot of the things I am looking out for are quite common, but I've managed to find a few more unusual plants there too that you wouldn't expect to see on the quid cactus tray, including a purple Sulcorebu...
