Re: Fertilizing during winter?

Sorry to contradict haworthia-org, but with the exception of H. limifolia, koelmaniorum and mcmurtryi , haworthias are plants which grow during the cooler months of the year. In practice this is during spring and autumn but they will continue to grow in the depths of winter if the conditions are OK...

Re: Fertilizing during winter?

If they are dormant = not growing, they don't need any fertilisation. If you are keeping them growing through the winter in purely mineral composts they may, since you growing them virtually hydroponically So if I understood you correct, If I fertlize them they may grow, or even if they do not grow...

Hello, I am still learning to grow succulents and your advices have been great so far. Now I need advice about fertilizing during winter - should I do it, or absolutely not? My situation is that I grow mostly Haworthias under LED grow lights, I use Seramis, Akadama and Cat litter (in different pots)...

Re: Expanded clay products

Hi I know some Uk growers rave over it but japanese Akadama breaks down in Uk conditions so it's not an equal alternative to cat litter From your opinion I am starting to think that it will be best to stick with my Seramis, which I currently use. I will try to find out Sanicat Pink, but for now I c...

Re: Expanded clay products

Can I use Sanicat 7 days Aloe Vera instead of Sanicat Pink, because it is not sold in my country, as a difference I see that the Sanicat Aloe Vera has smaller granules. It says it is made from "Calcined Attapulgite" which should be OK. It does look very fine though. It looks too fine for ...

Re: How to propagate Haworthia from leaves

I'd say there is more than just one right answer to your question :) I leave leaves out of anything to dry out for about a week, then put them in clay (most people use sand or cat litter), spray with water on daily basis, and pour some water at the base once a week. This is the part where one shoul...

Re: How to propagate Haworthia from leaves

Hello, I am new to succulents and I am still learning to grow them. Unfortunately I watered too much one of my Haworthias white ghost and it rot :???: . I unpotted it but there were only 2 good leaves left, I carefully removed them and let them dry for 3 days to heal the wound. Now which is best to ...
