Re: Trichocereus pachanoi

It's this rather crappy forum software that's to blame. No Peter, it is people who repeatedly refuse to accept the advice given as how to overcome this problem and continue making life difficult for the others on the forum. Yes you are right. This should have been sorted out ages ago. Are you sugge...

Re: What happened to Gérard Delanoy's national melocactus collection?

was this the collection that went to Kew? Featured in the special conservation issue of the journal maybe, or possibly some other issue? Hopefully someone with a better memory will be along shortly.... Good memory, Rob. The "Kew" melocactus collection was featured in the Conservation issue (2007, V...

Re: Trichocereus pachanoi

Please just ignore the two moaners from up North, fortunately you are not like them. (tu) I've reposted one of your pictures for everyone's benefit. Excellent flower. ( Hopefully the new Forum/Website software will solve this issue - else, we will be all on Bill's case to fix it!) 20190803_074928.jpg

Re: Mammillaria sickness

Overall, I think the collection is looking rather tired, just like the older parts of my mammillaria collection. Rejuvenation in fresh soil will work wonders, based on the other half of my collection which got dealt with last year.

Re: Mammillaria theresae

There's a photo on the PC from four years ago, which I'll post later - it needs to be resized as its too big for the forum. Have a look at Diane's previous pictures on the Forum: http://forum.bcss.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=159404&p=211587&hilit=theresae#p211587 http://forum.bcss.org.uk/viewtopic.ph...

Re: Haworthia lisbonensis advice please

I would be interested in what your lisbonensis looks like.
This was a name invalidly published in 1946, and Sean Gildenhuys then validly pubished it as the hybrid Haworthiopsis x lisbonensis in 2016. It is not a plant I am familiar with. Thanks.

I seem to remember that Sulphur was also withdrawn for horticultural use though it's still used medicinally. Stuart Yes, Sulphur was withdrawn from use as a fungicide at end 2011. From withdrawn chemicals list, RHS: Active ingredient Sulphur (Yellow sulphur) Brand name(s) Vitax yellow sulphur Main ...
