Re: Not so hardy Agave
A few losses here in West Yorkshire but nothing remarkable so far. I always cover my plants usually in late October to ensure they are dry when it does get cold. I've lost too many plants to northern winters to leave them to chance. -6.5c has been the coldest so far but it stayed sub zero for a week...

Re: cactus flowers and ID please
I have young plants of Echinopsis aurea which strongly resemble your plant Paul and the flower colour would be right.

Crassula alba
Has anyone grown this species? I bought seed a couple of years ago from Silverhill Seeds after reading it occurs in some high elevations and cold locations so might be happy outdoors as Crassula sarcocaulis seems to be. The plants grew happily for a while but gradually died back....only to return a ...

A magnificent Agave Paul. I wouldn't have guessed it's a variety of salmiana.

Re: Vitapod propagators?
Also have a look at Early Grow height extendable propagators. They sell heat mats too and digital thermostats to control them. Much cheaper than Vitapod.

Re: (Belated) Beginning of The End?
I recently bought seeds from South Africa and paid £24 for Phyto and £30 for DHL who presumably act as customs agent(?). I collaborated with another grower but it's still expensive. While PC has long been a requirement for seeds coming from "The rest of the world", I think enforcement will...
