Reply delayed by comp probs , yes Tegeleriana is self fertile , ( the only sp to be so ) , and has a large fruit , similar to a gooseberry

I think that the long term benefit of The Chileans will be benefit gained by those who met at the weekend event -- long ceased -- and inspired each other . The trouble is pests are always around , ( unless you grow from seed in the Antartic ) so a couple of treatments a year is money well spent

I found that an upturned jam jar ( empty ! ) placed over the pot with a Frailia in it can encourage the flower to open fully - due to the increace in both heat and humidity

Having had a very quick midnight look at the above , I am glad I did not invest in a copy , as the " Echinopsis , Lobivia , Trichocereus sections " do not seem to have taken onboard the DNA work to any extent , simply trying to hammer things into a genus , and seems to be a re- hash of ide...

In the Spring , I would plant it in a larger , wider pot , to help with balance , but not plant it much deeper as this could indeed induce rotting . I guess that most semps would enjoy that temp , but the main drawback is that on sunny days the temp wil go a lot higher and will stress them .
