Rebutia minuscula in bloom for weeks and M. spinosissima un pico for over 1 month. The latter hardly ever being without flowers or buds.

You certainly don't get plants this size in less than 10 years by using a low nitrogen fertiliser. A large proportion of the root mass has been removed so it can fit smaller pots. High nitrogen seems very unnatural to me. Most soils in habitat are low in nitrogen.

I use a general purpose house plant fertilizer and never worry about alkalinity, trace elements and so on and my cacti are doing just fine.

I bought some bare-rooted austrocacti last year, roots were badly damaged. Plants haven't developed new roots yet. I hope they will this year.
Melocactus roots tend to dry out and die in a short while unless kept moist.
