Re: June 2019 - Flowers

Thank you Rod. I'm not 'into flowers' but I admit I've enjoyed this one. Still, your notocactus and neoporteria are quite (more) a joy for everyone's eyes.

Seems its going too slow here.. small contribution from me... I don't think it would be fair ( :) ) to post echinopsis flowers, so here is one of hildewintera hybrids:

Re: Cultivating cacti & succulents when you have disabilities

I don't know how long it takes for discos to grow cephalium in regular way of growing. Most likely more than 5 years. Re: Cultivating cacti & succulents when you have disabilities

James,

Here is today's pic of the discocactus I've mentioned a year ago. Seems it was a cephalium. Plant has been grafted 5 years ago. Good news is that few other discos I've grafted the same year have started to grow cephaliums...

Re: Polycarbonate green house

I grow plants under 10 mm polycarb and I haven't noticed any negative side effects regarding growth and spination. Stetsonia coryne has spines > 10 cms long.. enough said? :)
Additional plus is that you can bend and cut polycarb waaaaaaaaaaaay easier than glass.

Re: Flowers for Succulentophiles

How about monadenium reflexum, yes I know its supposed to be a Euphorbia now but flowers are different and they seem to be harder to grow so my labels aren't changing. This year Rikus of the Euphorbia society visited, mentioned that this is difficult to grow so I'm waiting for it to die as he said ...
