Re: summer Spanish Lithops

Aiko and David - Nobody has yet come forward to offer their services as seed distributor for the MSG, so there will be no seed list in 2019. Whether there is one further in the future is up to the membership. I am (probably) not unwilling to take this up, although I would probably be alone on this....

Re: summer Spanish Lithops

thank David I'll try to find otzeniana 'Czesky Granat' at the ELK It may be difficult to find grown plants of this CV at a reasonable price. Seeds are always cheaper and I have not found it particularly diffcult from seed. Good luck! It was on the MSG seed list, two and three years back, if I recal...

Re: Updated seed lists

I just received the annual seed / bulb / corn list of the Southern African Bulb Group (SABG) and it was quite an extensive list of 13 pages! One needs to be a member to receive this, though. But well worth if you are even moderately interested in bulbs. So, the seed ordering season has officially st...

Re: buying seed

Wait for ordering until you see the seed lists being updated in the 'Updated seed lists thread'. Maybe the exception would be Mesa Garden, where now could be the right time (although they could have run out of species) as they might be less busy this time of the year than when the next list is relea...

Re: Naming conventions when selling plants

You could write 'ex' in front of the locality data or original source, for your offspring of these plants.

I wonder how much seed you will get,
Expect one seed per seed pod. So it does not provide heavily on seeds. Assuming you were refering to the Ledebouria / Scilla.

I am sure the follicle of the Ceropegia will provide dozens of seeds each, as other stapeliads do.

Re: CITES and cactus seeds: question Solved

I have been given 100+ seeds of Melocactus smithii by the owner of the land the plants grow on. All I would like to have is a few plants. I've sown 10 seeds, if they germinate well I will have many seeds left. I do not want to waste them and am thinking of selling them on ebay. M. smithii is a CITE...

Re: Sickly Lithops

My partner has suggested leaving the shading up all year as the greenhouse is South facing (think it's easier for him not having to take it all down!) At first I said no it had to come down. Now thinking maybe leave it up. I always have my shading cloth up between early March and early October. Esp...
