Re: April 2024 - Bursting out of the pot

Let's add some examples of what I had in mind: An Ariocarpus ripping open a pot from almost the top to the bottom: IMG_0344.jpeg A Gymnocalycium trying to do the same but not even halfway there: IMG_0345.jpeg A Pachypodium succulentum that will be hard to repot later this year if I try to save the p...

Re: First flowers of the year

Mine are in bud too. Let's see if they can beat Mammillaria henandezii, which have been in bud since November and still haven't flowered. I do have plants in flower throughout the year, so there is no real battle for first flower. That is the advantage of having winter active plants in your greenhou...

Re: Precocious Agave!

He says there though to remove after germination but I don't know if he's left them for longer and seen what has happened. Keeping them in the water for longer: I mean until they germinate. Cyrtanthus and Habranthus seeds germinate well when I keep them in the water for a week or two. Then once the...

Re: Precocious Agave!

Can Agave and Yucca seeds be sown by putting them in some water and then just let them be, as one can do with papery like seeds from bulbs such as Cyrtanthus and Habranthus?

Anyone tried that for a few weeks?
