Re: Lazarus arises

It's beautiful! Fab flowers. I love Trichos. Haven't got that one but do have various bulbosum and densum.

I haven't got that one either. Really nice and a treat to see it flowering. Lucky you!

leopardinum.....named for it's brown spotted sheaths! Another synonym of meyeri.
Ah ha! So nothing to do with the spotty bodies... Nevertheless, one of mine is definitely spottier than the other, so I might take the hint! Thanks, Chris.

Re: Correct name for cono?

No picture but surely would be C. meyeri. Considered a synonym, I don't know whether it has features that meaningfully distinguish it. Hang tight and fingers crossed one of the Conophytum experts will explain all. Thanks, Iann. It is definitely slightly spottier than another one of mine I found, bu...

Re: Correct name for cono?

Thanks, Phil. Great tip! C. leopardinum L. Bolus has come up. I'll Google that....

Edited to add: Uwe Beyer has it listed as C.meyeri "leopardinum", I see.

Correct name for cono?

I have a cono labelled C. leopardianum. I'm thinking it should be C.meyeri 'leopardinum'. I tried the IPNI site to no avail. Can anyone help, please?

Yes Trudy, me too! Like you I’ve got “Dumpling” and would love the earlier book. Annoyingly desirable Cono literature seems to match the price of desirable Conos!
Absolutely. We all need to win the Lottery...! I got lucky on eBay and got Cole's Lithops at a very good price, so that's a start.

Re: Conophytum louisae

So much expert information: thank you all. I so wish I owned a copy of the Conograph. Still, at least I have Dumpling. And I'm thinking SH missed a trick by not using terryi!

Re: Conophytum louisae

Oh, thanks, that's very interesting. I didn't know about that! Complicated, ain't it? But reading it quickly, I agree, luiseae would seem to be correct from all angles. So...are we all thinking the plant should be C. bilobum subsp.altum 'luiseae'? Or...?
