Ok thank you,.there are curtain plants that I wouldn't sell as cheap as my normal asteriases for example since astros are so variable, you get wierd mutants popping up occasionally. It really depends on the individual plant I think. Thanks again :)

Hello everyone, I'm starting a small business selling mainly astrophytum asterias, everything from normal and nudum to superkabuto, startype and more. Oh sorry about that, I thought you meant the pup had actually cracked/split, (which would usually be down to overwatering.

This usually happens when a lopho absorbs too much water at once.

I find clear pots are also good for checking if the soil is still wet.

I thought my Mexican dry mix was frugal but you are down to hydroponics :wink:
Yes, much of the reason I bought this one is how unusual it is for a V type to have such a 'clean' look to it.

They have worked well for me, algae has never been an issue. Even if it was, I really wouldn't mind.

Yes pumice, volcanic rock, clay and calcium carbonate. I just prefer the plastic pots, they are cheap, the perfect size and can be re used, it's also easier to spot root pests that way.
