My rebutias are just beginning to bud so will probably be three to four weeks later than yours, Sylvia. It's been cold and cloudy up here until a week ago, now it's back to cold and cloudy after that brief intermission.

Looks like several doses of red spider mite of one sort or another. In my experience the plant will recover and eventually the unsightly part will become less prominent as the new growth appears. The problem with RSM appears to be that once you detect an attack it's too late to prevent cosmetic dama...

Prolific indeed, and doesn't look much like an Echinocereus in form. It'll be nice to see the flowers when they appear.
