Yes, if the pup grows well in the remainder of this year, I intend to remove it and reroot it next year - God willing.

Here is my graft 4 weeks on. Some good growth on the scion and it is now firmly attached.

In a Facebook group, I saw a pic of a graft held in place by PTFE tape - the stuff plumbers use to make threaded joints leakproof. Worth a try.
