Re: Crassula arborescens not looking well

Okay, had a quick look. It's hard to get deep down into the pot.

I can't see any signs of pests.

Re: Crassula arborescens not looking well

Ahh, I should have mentioned that the photos make it look paler than it really is. Thank you for all the replies. I will unpot it and take a look. Not sure where I'm going to get/put a bigger pot if it needs one, that one is massive, haha. I had not realised it needed more water. It is indoors, thou...

Crassula arborescens not looking well

Hi all, This problem started during the summer last year, I think, but it hasn't really improved. As you can see, the edges of the leaves are dying and some bark(?) has started to peel off the base. It's still growing though, and leaves that fall off grow into healthy young plants. It was watered on...

Keeping my cats away from the plants

So I adopted two kittens last year and they have turned out to enjoy removing cactus seedlings from their pots and playing with them. Also chewing on the spines of the bigger plants. :???: Other than putting the plants in a room where the cats can't go, does anyone have any suggestions on how to dea...

Re: Limp Christmas Cactus

Oh dear, what a pity. As others have said, these plants seem to need quite different treatment from most other cacti. I grow my one plant on a north facing bathroom window sill, so it's not in any sun, although good light, plus I think it likes the steam. I also use multipurpose compost with a litt...

Re: Limp Christmas Cactus

Mine is dead.

Moved it in the early hours yesterday to a nice south-facing windowsill, went out to a cafe for a few hours around 10am, got back and found it browned by the sun, draped over the pot as if in the middle of an escape attempt, smelling of partially-cooked cabbage.

My question would be, how can I provide a humid environment for the cactus in my living room?
I think that's more optimal but not necessary. That said, I suppose you could get a humidifier and put it next to that?

Re: Waking up my plants

If it has warmed up then yeah, start watering again. Not much though.

I think flowering is more about light conditions and age than watering, though I have little experience with this...
