Re: fungicide for seed trays

A fungicide wont stop the algae (or cyanobacteria, what used to be called blue-green algae). However, it might still be useful to prevent damping off. I put 1/2 chinosol tablet in a bucket of water when watering. (Hard to find here, but sold in Germany for gargle or something... - but don't get neo-...

Re: Titanopsis

I bought it from "Industrial Agaves" on eBay, and although some of their plants came with locality data, this one didn't.

Just a further update - I've now had germination in 95 of the pots, somewhat over half.

Re: Re-potting caudex plant advise please.

Yes, I'd agree its Fokea edulis. It's basically a plant with a big root, and will do fine in a long tom; indeed it will grow better in a bigger pot, I suspect - mines never done a great deal in a 4" long tom pot.

Re: Please can I have a list of minimum temperatures by species?

There aren't many others I'd feel confident about. Obesa might, but is safer kept above freezing. Euphorbias susannae, horrida and globosa were right next to the glass in my old greenhouse, and even though it was heated to 5C, it must have got pretty cold on occasion - they survived without issues.

Aha, thanks for that insight Stuart. There's always something new to learn when growing plants.
