Different areas of my greenhouse are at different temperatures, but most of my Crassulaceae are in the 5C zone, as it is "tidier" to keep the related plants together.

Whatever the theory might say, the experimental evidence is clear... Really? To be sure, you would have to take a bundle of identical-appearance plants of the same clone, pot them in the same compost, randomly split them into two groups and apply the two different feeding regimes. Indeed - they come from China and Japan, where it can be quite a way below zero in winter. I've occasionally seen them on old roofs there, a bit like houseleeks (wild, not planted).

I think the dye is there just so you can see when you have added the fertiliser, so you dont e.g. double dose. Also, different fertilisers have different colours, so I suppose that helps you tell which fertiliser you have added. As to all this discussion as to whether then N in Miracle Grow is avail...
