Re: Chairmans vision for the future

A couple of months ago the society national chairman gave a talk at our local branch. The first half was devoted to popular plants of a type likely to attract interest from folk who have never been interested in the plants we grow(in my case only succulents-sorry). I have to say the presentation an...

Re: eNews Special Edition

I am more interested in what members want than people that may never join. We have a separate survey for new members / potential members. If we opened this up on the Facebook group we could be inundated with requests from people who have no intentions of joining. I am paying to get the data analysed...

Re: eNews Special Edition

Ian Of course, it could be more important in the long-term to base it on what the NON-members want, given that most of us existing members are OAPs. Ralph Ralph There is a seperate survey for new members and the data will be used at a workshop where I have new, not so new and some more experienced ...

Re: eNews Special Edition

The survey question issue has been addressed so please feel free to give us your views.

Its very important for me as I want to build the BCSS based on what the members want rather than what an aging committee think you want.

Kind regards
Ian

Re: eNews Special Edition

Problem with question 7 the last four questions will only allow one of them to be rated Jim You are right it isn’t clear. The idea is to choose the 4 most important elements for you and to place them in order. I have emailed the young lady who set the question to ask her to explain the rationale to...

Re: February eNews

You need to find the option for "whitelist" (varies from provider to provider) and add the details into this option. Thanks for the suggestions but I don't think it will work. I have looked for this option but could not find it so I tried the help option and found While Virgin Media Mail works hard...

Re: February eNews

All I am very sorry that some people have had issues with the enews dropping into their spam folder. I will offer a solution in a minute but will just say. We are an organisation run by volunteers and all the officers put in lots of their spare time trying to do nice things for the members. The trus...

Re: Cactus seed payment

There is in reality no real other way in which most members can express their opinions. Even, eg, election of officials at an AGM means disenfranchisement of the majority. I would not push for speedy change, but the society imo should move slowly but positively towards a different way of working. N...

Re: Cactus seed payment

This thread has taken a rather strange turn. So perhaps I should make certain things very clear. We currently source our seeds from all over the world so I hope there will be little impact from Brexit. We are an international Cactus and Succulent Society (based in the UK) and the second largest in t...

Re: Cactus seed payment

I have always said that I will not disadvantage any member I appreciate that, Ian. But to devise a new system that 100% satisfies nobody and is retrogressive is not the way forward. There is a choice to be made. Whether BCSS modernises, as other societies have, towards an internet-only system, or g...
