At a couple of nurseries in Europe they stand these in trays and in late spring early summer have them stood in water for a few weeks ! Not at all what we think for cacti But it encourages the buds to form and not dry up I have not gone that far but if the weather is good I do try to water them much...

Unfortunately I am not able to do public open days due to limited space.

I have done BCSS open days the past three years for the local zone, we had about 50 last year which was a bit tight.

Visits by arrangement are possible at certain time

freudenbergeri has purple / magenta flowers so its not that

Just a form of the very variable rinconensis

The longest spined form I have has spines around 8 inches

I agree I would not spray echiverias or plants with the nice white waxy covering

Never seen any issues relating damaging the plants but don't do it with the sun on them

Interesting you water it and say keep off the plants I have done the opposite, in that I make an emulsion in warm water (has to be warm or the oil can set solid before it disperses) Add a little liquid soap to help it disperse. Add about 5ml oil to 1 lt of water and a few drops of liquid saop Shake ...
