Hi all at a recent stay in a hotel in San Diego they had this growing in hotel flower beds
Any ideas as the flowers totally confused me re what it could be

At a couple of nurseries in Europe they stand these in trays and in late spring early summer have them stood in water for a few weeks ! Not at all what we think for cacti But it encourages the buds to form and not dry up I have not gone that far but if the weather is good I do try to water them much...

Avid RSM listed Abamectin active ingredient Best solution if you can get hold of it, very effective Also kills Thrips as a by product :grin: Wear an organic solvent mask (one with a proper charcoal filter not a paper mask available on ebay for around £20) and spray, dont water it, in late evening wh...

Unfortunately I am not able to do public open days due to limited space.
I have done BCSS open days the past three years for the local zone, we had about 50 last year which was a bit tight.
Visits by arrangement are possible at certain time

I agree I would not spray echiverias or plants with the nice white waxy covering
Never seen any issues relating damaging the plants but don't do it with the sun on them
