Re: Worth trying to save?

I'm assuming I'll "just know" when it's healed? Assuming I can see through the yellow stuff.... (was a bit heavy handed with the sulphur... )

Re: Mesemb shows: to judge or not to judge?

I'm new to growing Mesembs but I think I would prefer to go and browse (and enter) judged shows as this shows you what you should be aiming for without other's input. It's okay if you know many people and can ask them things about the plant but if you don't know many people, it helps to have somethi...

Re: Birmingham Branch and Haworthia Society Autumn Show 2012

How did Trevor and Bill manage to get in most pictures? (And I'm in none even though I stood chatting to Trev for a while) Also, did anyone get any pictures of the "leafy Haworthia"? I have no idea what it was but my other half liked it. He hasn't seen it on the photos I've shown him.

Re: Worth trying to save?

Some slimy (as in really) but I think that is good tissue. Some like watered watered down mashed potato in a fetching colour of light brown. Some dry brown flakes which are attached to the mash. I've took most of the mash out and the brown flakes and the plant seems less squishy (please can someone ...

Re: Worth trying to save?

I've just tried to scrape little bits away and most of it is green and nice but here and there are little bits of, what looks like, rot which seem easy to remove. The top (green) is squishy in some places but not others which is making me worried (plus the weird bottom bit but that doesn't bother me...

Re: Worth trying to save?

As I said, I haven't had it long and only unpotted it yesterday. Unfortunately, it is a single-headed plant. It has got normal "bark" but the problem seems to be between that and the green part. I can find somewhere dry but I don't know if it will do any good. It is the same squidgy-ness a...

Worth trying to save?

Good morning! I have a Copiapoa here that I think has a bit of rot. I haven't had it very long and it hasn't been near water so I'm not sure why (though I am aware they are quite funny little things). The question - Is it worth trying to save? Less than a third of it seems to be affected. Would you ...
