Re: Collector or grower?

Maybe I´m a collector then, since i like to have species of different forms. It´s a bonus to have the plants flower for you,but for me the main thing is that the plants are pleasing to the eye,i do spend a lot of time just looking at and loving my plants.I used to grow a lot from seed, not any more si...

Re: Agave leopoldii flowering - advice sought

Re: Pruning Advice for Uncarina Roeoesliana

You might prune it harder than that, it will grow more stems than before even if may take some time. Keep it cool in winter, around 10-15C. In the end it will make a nice kind of bonsai.

Re: Grumpy Gymnos

I don´t know that a substrate could be too gritty? I have all my plants in a blend of pumice, cat litter and a sniff of coir and the gymnos seems to enjoy that, they are growing very well and fowers from april until december. I use rainwater only and a test made a few years ago showed a Ph at 5,7. I...

Re: Rebutias 2016

I fully agree. Lobivias, rebutias and sulcos are the most rewarding ones when you want an enormous display of flowers! You almost need sunglasses when entering the greenhouse in middle/late may. This is my main objection of cacti books. The focus is always on the flowers, sometimes you can hardly see t...
