Re: Fans for ventilation?

I use two of these year round in my 20 x10 and leave them on for months at a time. They really keep the air moving!

Re: Adromischus help please

I meant the leaf shape and overall form Stuart, not the colour. Let's see if DT adds his two penn'orth to this.

Re: Adromischus help please

I'd like to see a flower to be sure. Has more a look of triflorus in form IMO. With all due respect to Derek, having a DT accession number without any real provenance adds very little value or interest to what looks a pretty boring Adro.......again, IMO

Re: Are these Crassulas both the same?

I think Ian's plants are C.saxifraga.......apart from the colour difference, compare to this which I believe is C.capensis with much more open flowers as Terry suggests. I'm sure DT will have an opinion on this.

Re: Conophytum Luckhoffii

There are now many forms of C.luckhoffi in cultivation and some are neater growing than others. A paricularly untidy form with me is Baboon Point.....nicer ones are Skerpheuwal, Eagle's Pride and Matjiesrivier.

Re: Christmas Conophytum

They do cluster in habitat Terry......these from September 2014. I've had a similar experience that my long-cultivated plants seem to flower anytime they please now, from November right through to February.

Re: Conophytum louisae

As Phil has explained, Reverend Meyer's daughter for whom this was dedicated by Schwantes in 1930, was luise and not luisa........hence it was (should have been) luiseae and not luisae. Conophytum altum had already been described by Bolus three years before so so takes precedence. All this sort of i...

Re: Conophytum louisae

Actually Conophytum luiseae........an old name from 1957 synonymous with C.bilobum subsp. altum.
