Thanks Ian! When a very cold night is forecast, I cover the plants with several layers of newspaper. Hopefully that should avoid too many casualties... The lowest recorded temp in my GH last winter was -4.4c.

I actually got it as I love the spines! The flowers are an added bonus!!
The thing is Acid John, my G/H temperature went down to -1.8c when we had that cold snap, hence my concern!

Neoporteria rapifera - surprise flowers
Spotted buds on this some time ago, but what with the cold snap a couple of weeks ago (my g/h is unheated), I didn't expect them to open, but here they were at the weekend (with hopefully more to come! )
