Re: Newbee to Haworthia, Aloe and Gasteria

hi Darren, I'd say watch the sun! I lost a lot of newly germinated Haworthia seedlings last year when we had some hot weather early in the year. Like you I had them in a South facing window but in a bathroom. I don't think ventilation was the problem so put the losses down to sunstroke. The ones I'v...

Re: Please can I see photos of your DIY staging?

My thoughts so far are that I should have my south facing bench 3ft wide which would obscure half of the door. I'd have to make a cut out/recession for the door and have a smaller aisle but I'm only slim. I use wood staging in my wood greenhouses. The staging is about 2ft wide (deep?) but I extende...

Re: Do Pachypodium saundersii flowers have a discernible scent?

Thanks Ian, but I get "no products found" in every category I click on. Wonder if it's because I am using my iPad ? Cheers

Re: Lithop seeds

I believe the Mesemb Study Group (MSG) still provides an annual seed list for members. You could consider joining them. I was a member a couple of years ago and bought quite a lot of different species of Lithops seeds, most of which gave excellent germination.

Re: What has happened to my Aloes?

Sorry to hear about your plants Mike. I'm no expert on Aloes but I recently lost my A. erinacea which similarly seemed to rot from the centre. I put it down to the extreme (for UK) hot weather we had during the summer. Hopefully somebody more knowledgeable on Aloes will have an opinion.

Re: Haworthia Pumilla flower stalk offsetting

I had one on a H. reinwardtii last year which I left attached until earlier this year and is now doing well on its own roots. I've had no more since unfortunately.

That'd be Southfields then, on your way to Kings Lynn.
