Re: Cat litter - quick questions

Thanks a lot Cactusgirl and Nick. I have also found info online that this one is very good: https://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/cat-litter/lightweight-non-clumping-pink-cat-litter Apparently, it has been well tried and tested by folk at Northern Ireland Cactus and Succulent Society. Currently £...

Re: Limp Christmas Cactus

Though the ones you see in garden centres are hybreds the original plants would have grown in warm damp forest conditions so they do not require a lot of light. Mine live on the lower shelf of my greenhouse staging, the temperature can get down to 5 deg. C in winter so they are in very different con...

Re: Limescale on plastic pots

Citric acid is another cheap and easily obtainable acid and like vinegar harmless in use, dissolve a half cup full of powder in a small bucket of hand hot water and leave the pots to soak.

Re: Bloom!

The only plants in flower in my greenhouse at the moment are my wife's freesias and a Cleistocactus which I don't remember seeing flower at this time of the year, it is usually a summer / autumn flowering plant.

Re: bubble wrap - taking it down

Roof autovents working now but starting to show their age, some stick open and have to be forced to shut. Most of the wax cylinders rarely last long, usually two or three years. Anyone have any recommendations for longer lasting ones. Stuart I have an ancient (unbranded garden center) one that is s...

Re: March 2019 - GotM - Echinocereus

http://www.society.bcss.org.uk/index.php/march-2019.html It would be particularly nice to see some of the wilcoxia types, given the focus on E. poselgeri. IMG_2463.JPG IMG_2461.JPG There you go, not great pictures of it but the only ones on this PC, I have had it as W. schmollii for the last thirty...

Thank you for posting the pictures, I am seeing Kalanchoe in a whole new light, I too had not considered them as anything other than a foliage plant. (tu)
