Re: BEF pots

Really good to hear that Manchester branch will be able to produce and hopefully profit from the legendary BEF pots, I too look forward to placing an order when the web site goes live. (tu)

Re: Greenhouse heating : Plan B

I have a couple of spare Parwin heaters here, and I think I have somewhere some spare heating coils or wire too (I seem to remember seeing a packet with it / them when I moved house). If anyone is after the coils or a heatero, either for use or for cannibalising for spares, just get in touch. One p...

Re: A bit of sun and this happens

Very nice Ernie. Unfortunately my greenhouse will not be seeing any sun for a couple of months it may be warmer in built up areas but there is not a lot of direct sunlight this time of year.

Re: CactusWorld

Just to respond to the comment about CactusWorld and have I got news for you. This didn't just happen and a lot of work was done to ensure we got featured. It was effectively a free advert at prime time BBC TV that let everyone know there is a cactus publication in the UK. It reached 6 million peop...

Re: Please can I see photos of your DIY staging?

Here are two shots taken five years ago when I re homed my plants from my Father's greenhouse. IMG_4188.JPG IMG_4178.JPG The floor of the greenhouse is insulated and has a membrane to keep out damp rising from the earth which will have helped keep the wood in good shape, today it is as good as it wa...

Re: Label Printers

Thanks Ray, I will have a look at Cactus World. I usually have a quick skim through it when it arrives then put it aside as evening reading matter when I am working away from home, it helps to keep me out of the hotel bar.

Re: Label Printers

I use Brother P touch and haven't bought genuine ribbons for a long time. Plenty of perfectly good clone tapes on eBay. Interesting, I use a Brother P touch printer to label audio / video equipment at work but have always used the genuine labels. If the clones stand up to life in a greenhouse I sho...

Re: Please can I have some more

Stuart's plants have a good start, but you have done well, I just wish I had bought one for myself! As mentioned by Diane in another thread, I wonder if the hot conditions this year have encouraged flowering. Regards, Jean. I think Diane is right, my Turbs, Lophophoras, the Ariocarpus and a Strombo...

A very nice plant Keith, I hope you can catch a photo when the sun appears.
I think you were there when I bought it from Stuart at the 2017 Bromley show. It is still barely bigger than a twenty pence piece and I was not expecting to see it flower for quite some time.
