Your plants are looking great and it is good to see how well the new greenhouse has become established.

Re: That Avonia is off again

Splendid, I have enough trouble seeing my Anacampseros flowers open. It will be a real treat to see flowers on any of the three Avonias I bought earlier this year.

Re: New polytunnel

Hi Conrad, the poly tunnel and your plants are looking great. It is really good to see the update, good luck launching the web site. Have you considered selling at one or more of the cactus marts or perhaps a branch or regional show?

I bought it some time in the early 80's so it must be around thirty five or forty years old, now in a ten inch pot, since I got my plants back four years ago it has flowered twice. Sorry for the poor picture quality, taken wi...

Re: John Innes no 2 question

Re: barrel cacti problem

My three mature plants, one white spined and two normal have been down to just below 5 deg.C for the last four years with no ill effect, I don't think they are as sensitive as younger plants.

The weather is said to improve by the weekend so here's hoping it will open when we get some sun again.

It had not yet opened in the photograph, that was before I went away for four days. Apparently we had a couple of hot sunny days where it will have opened but now it is cold and damp in London and the flower had definitely opened and is now over.
