...I just discovered in the substrate of my seedlings the following insects/spiders (???? I can't see).
To me they look like Ladybugs or Ladybird Beetles. Coccinellidae

Re: Is this root mealy?

...There was an article years ago, I think in the journal (possibly the old GB or National societies pre-BCSS) which described placing cacti in hot water for a specific time, which killed mealies. ... Hi Mike. This is not the article but have a look here. Hot bath against root mealybugs http://www....

I have not tried this but I definitely will if/when I have some. Might be worth trying for other soil pests as well.

You can always cut off the elongated growth above the soil, if you don't like it.
What I would like is for it to root at the stem but I won't bother it now till spring to if that has happened.

Re: Grahamia palmeri

I have given mine as much sun as I can and it has had plenty of heat with a fan circulating air all spring, summer and now fall. I think that has kept it from stretching.

This plant was from seeds I got from you, Aiko, back in 2013.

Re: Different colour Lithops

A nice display of L. verruculosa. Interesting how 'Rose of Texas' can vary in colour so much.

Re: Lithops flowers 2018

I don't mind the highs and lows difference. I fact it is well suited to any winter growers seeds as well. I just think it will take longer for flowers to open up. I don't like to see them linger and abort.

Re: Lithops flowers 2018

I do like the nice colour contrast. And it looks like you have some propagating going on as well.
