Re: Aeonium var "SCHWARZKOPF"

I have always called it Schwartzkopf so it's good to know the correct name.

I have never had a flower. But I find that even leafless bits of stalk readily develop rosettes and roots. Alison, you could chop where possible so as not to lose your plant. And please post a photo of the flower!

Re: Woohoo! Boophone time again!

I want one, but don't have the space until the room-by-room replastering is done. sigh!

Please keep posting photos in the meantime Brian. Those habitat pics are awesome.

Re: Stapeliad beauties

What beautiful plants, Wiebe. I love the buds too, they are a gorgeous shape.

Just so long as you don't ask us to choose a favourite - it's too difficult!

Good luck with your presentation.

Re: Tina's hot greenhouse

Hi Tina, What an amazing space, I would wander about for hours just looking at everything. I also split genuses up and have them in groups of watering needs. Obesa are by the shallots at the moment  well they are sort of succulent and like a weekly water. Opuntias are with the Conos and Lithops...

Hehe :)

What lovely flowers. I especially like the "tree" in the very middle of each. I guess that's the girl part?

Re: I've waited a long time for this - UPDATE

What a beautiful coloured bud. And hairy too, love it.

As one moth said to the other as they flew up towards the sun, "This is gonna be good!"

Re: Question about female E.Obesa seeds

Seeds are slightly sticky like goose grass. Soak them for 24 hours before germinating (they go slimy) to soften the tough coat that protects them when being fired for yards. I used an upturned plastic cup, and they make you jump when they go off. You will never find the seeds if you don't catch them...
