Re: Yavia cryptocarpa

Hello All,

Hope everyone is well, I still drop by from time to time ! ;-)

Just thought I'd share this one as it has me pretty chuffed. 7 years from seed and on its own roots. First flowering for me!

Regards,

Trevor

Re: Lots of Pseudolithos Seed Solved

Well done ! I have a few plants of Pseudolithos mccoyi and they are always setting pods prior to actually flowering. It's as if something in the bud formation process goes awry and instead of a bud, it skips that bit and goes straight to a pod!

Re: One of my few Pediocacti

Very nice. Forgive me though if this is a stupid question, but what is meant by, "The plant is on its own roots"? Some of the harder to grow plants like Pediocacti etc are usually seen grafted onto a more robust stock. They can be quite a challenge to grow as Mother Nature intended...

Re: Plastic trays

I'd look into George's suggestion too.. Down here in Oz you cane get kitty litter trays that are ideal for moving carrying potted plants. They are usually way cheaper (about a third the price) than the proper horticultural trays and while I'm not sure how UV stable they are, I've had some in the gre...

Re: Euphorbia Sipolisii

I'm growing it here in Oz, and it is available from some nurseries here . I think you'll find it's rare in cultivation due to it being a South American Euphorbia and not an African one. So it probably doesn't show up on the usual Euphorbia seed supplier lists....
