Re: Selling plants - Plant passports - Inspection
If clear records are kept, the cost of each visit should be limited to the approx £125 figure previously mentioned. The whole system seems to be pointless though as it only applies to distance selling and not direct selling which defeats the whole object of traceability. The extra paperwork isn't to...

Re: Spalding Cactus Mart Sat 20th April
Only just over a week to go. I'd suggest making a weekend of it and visiting Southfields on the Friday, going to Spalding Branch meeting on the Friday evening (19th April) and spending the Saturday at the Cactus Mart. Southfields is the largest cactus nursery in the UK and currently has 25% off all ...

Re: SOUTH WEST SUCCULENT PLANT SPRING FAIR APRIL 6th 2024
Great start to the season, plenty of quality plants for sale. The hall isn't ideal for loading with steps preventing trolley access but plenty of much appreciated help with loading in and out made it easy. I bought six plants and had £10 change from £200 but there were plenty of nice plants for sale...

Re: BCSS National Plant Fair - 10-11 August 2024
I think something went wrong with the initial details sent to nurseries. I hadn't heard and got the info from another nursery. One of the 'regulars' at Cactus Marts hadn't heard when I was speaking at his branch last week. Maybe all the sellers not on the list should be re-contacted. It should be a ...

Re: Crassula Ovata Collum varigata
'Gollum' rather than 'Collum' it seems to have been a sport of 'Hummell's Sunset' and will colour up well in the sun, I have it as 'Red Horn' It's a nice plant to grow as a semi-bonsai form.

Re: mysterious cacti question
I'd leave them as they are but prop them up with a wooden coffee stirrer cut in half and placed at the far side so it doesn't show. They should offset in time and the offsets may cover the narrow neck. Aim for plenty of sun and 'a little neglect' - not too much water.
