Re: Hi Everybody

I am like yourself and my obsession with cacti seemed to advance rather quickly! As I started to get into my cacti I learnt 2 very basic things that I do with everything I buy, even though I am a complete amateur. Repot everything. You get to check it out thoroughly and you know what soil it's in (t...

Re: Hello

Hello!
Love your collection as it's quite similar to mine with lots of variety and things that I enjoy. What's your favourite specimen and why? That's a hard question isn't it?! Sorry!

Re: Greetings!

Very nice, but jeez, did u wipe down all the sides ready for those photos? You run a tight ship everything is pristine! There is more soil on my kitchen worktop than there is there! Re: Hi from sunny Wales.

Hello!
Isn't it funny I also keep carnivorous plants, the types seem to go hand in hand with collectors who have a passion for the weird and wonderful. Yeah - Wales I feel for you there! UK in general is bad enough. Have you got a greenhouse or are they kept inside?

Re: Starting again.

Trouble posting your thoughts? You are in the best place for them, just tell people what kind of collection you have however large or small and get talking to people. Once you start to discuss things things here you will feel more comfortable. I don't get on here much due to work, but I do spend a l...

Re: Jess's Sunny Day Windowsill Tour

I loved your windowsill tour! I live in a flat and have sky lights, most of my cacti love it and have thrived. I was too shy to put any pictures on though. Cuz everyone has super greenhouses and super big cacti and they know all the names and, it's a bit intimidating really! I'm going to do it thoug...

Euphorbia obesa

My euphorbia obesa has just started sprouting it's little cyathia - or at least it has the first little sprout. I was really surprised as I've only had it about a month, potted it into my own mix and left it. So it hasn't had a summer soaking like the rest of them yet. Now I'm not sure what to do wi...

Re: advice for newbie please !!

I have noticed dyed cacti yes, I have resisted them because heaven knows what they are dyed with. It would be interesting to find out how they produce this effect cuz it's so bright I'm not convinced it can be done safely. I saw some beautiful huge aloes last week that had been painted bright orange...
