Re: Suprise appearance in the Western Morning News

Well worth a visit if you're in the area - it's a bit far for me, but I have had two very enjoyable visits in the last few months. The biggest problem is that Ralph is really good at quietly convincing you that you want to spend lots of money! :angre:    Here are some pictures of one...

Re: Recommendation for a seller

I've bought many lovely plants from Ken over the years. I suspect he's given up with ebay this year, what with their fee structures costing sellers more and more. ( I hope nothing else is wrong).

Re: A beautiful Lobivia

There's a Lobivia binghamiana (no more than a form of L. hertrichiana) but this isn't it. This is an Echinopsis hybrid. That would seem to be the most likely answer. Looking closely at the label again, I see it reads 'Lobivia binghamii var' with the var in small letters. It shows no similarity to a...

A beautiful Lobivia

I haven't got round to displaying my best Echinopsis (and Epiphyllum) hybrids flowers this year. There have been some good ones! However, I want to show off this plant which is particularly pretty in both form and flower. I spotted it last year in a local garden centre, and liked the plant shape. Al...

I think it is Parodia (Notocactus) roseoluteus too.
P herteri has a lighter green slightly different body.

Re: Greenhouse flowers

Fabulous display Sylvia. Mine don't flower so many together. They space themselves out over June and July. Mind you, my favourite 'Nita' which I was lucky enough to get from Mr N in 2016 has already flowered and finished for the fourth consecutive year. Very similar to the one in your fourth photo....

Re: Greenhouse flowers

It has been a good weekend in my, partially shaded, greenhouse too. This view shows 15 Schick hybrids and 2 “multihybrids” in flower this morning. I bought some Echinopsis hybrids yesterday, but am looking for some particular Schicks. i have a few, and a few of Brian Fearn's from AbbeyBrook. Can yo...

Re: Enjoying the sun and warmth today

Good evening gentlemen. Yes I've given some of my Aeoniums some early action in the sun this year. A word of caution, though, if you are new(ish) to these succulents (or even if you're not!). If they are left outside during a hailstorm the whole lot will end up covered with little pockmark scars whi...
