OK, it does look like some images of M. rekoi susp. leptacantha so I think I'll settle for that for now and see how it goes.
Thanks all

Re: Homebase plant
Mm... full circle! I had hoped that aplant with a stuck-on label would be reliable, so maybe it is after all.
I don't see such evident hooks in most images as this has. Guess I'll have to wait for a flower to be really sure.
Thanks

Re: Homebase plant
That looks a better match. I think I'll label as such, at least until it grows a bit bigger, thanks.

Re: Homebase plant
I'd missed that one as many images don't really show the hooks, or perhaps it's variable.
They are quite efective on anything that gets close to them!
Thanks

Re: Hairy IDs please
Thanks.
Cephalocereus senilis occurrs in so many ID threads across the net but I wasn't concerned with dates or region. I'll have to look out for one and start a trend
This one was a gift so no idea where from

Re: To glaze or not to glaze, that is the question
Probably not available from stock in most builders merchants. I have seen it in the sheds (B&Q etc.).
Other than online your best bet would be conservatory suppliers but try a few as I expect many will see as money to be made!

Re: Hairy IDs please
The one I thought was Cephalocereus senilis? If so I think I came across that one but dismissed it as C senilis seems so common in collections.

No real idea on these two

Re: Opuntias and related
Many thanks.
No wonder I couldn't find it as I've not come across Cumulopuntia before. Not sure I'll be able to shrink mine to the size of yours
I'm thinking I should start again with some of these, I had them overpotted for a while and they grew lots!
