Re: Sepiolite?

I used it once many years ago, made up into a paste, to suck the stains out of an old marble fire place I was renovating. It worked a treat. However, I was not aware at the time that in certain forms (fibrous form) it can be a health hazard see link here http://www.hse.gov.uk/lau/lacs/37-2.htm You w...

Re: Dont be shy

Providing it's a sunny day and I continue with my current aversion to razors, you're bound to recognize me. Sorry but I'm still on Interpol's most wanted list for crimes against mediocracy.

Re: Been potting.....

Is there an ideal time to repot (apart from when the existing pot is bulging)? Or, conversely, is there time when one should definitely not repot, just before winter resting, for example? I'm sure this question has been both posed and answered before but my memory isn't what it once was.

Re: "grey" water

Use it on the garden but haven't tried on succulents/cacti. It's a good question though. May spurn me into testing it out on some of the more robust plants like Opuntias. Always a bit worried about chemicals but I use Ecover, which is supposed to break down. The only other possible content would org...

Re: Lea Valley Auction

I must have missed the ad for this. Would have gone otherwise. Capel Manor is only a few miles away from me. Mind you, would practically have needed to swim there. Some very good looking plants. Did they all sell?

Re: Plants from Exotica concern

I'm all for the human race becoming extinct - the world would be a much better place without it. Just so long as it doesn't happen before the Harrow Branch Show on 7th June. But seriously, although a lot of diverse views are being expressed, to me the sums just don't add up. I always return to energ...

Re: Plants from Exotica concern

I'm with Acid John here. There won't be much of anything left soon, whether it be fish, fowl or vegetable. If it's edible it will be eaten and if it's not edible, it will be pushed aside and replaced by something that is. The world now has far too many hungry mouths to feed to sustain the luxury of ...
