Re: BCSS AGM 2024 - Unappealing photo!

It is an attractive hall inside and much more so than the school we used to meet at - and a much more cosy size for the far fewer members attending these days.

I took a photo - you might recognise one or two people!

Re: Trying to find a book on cacti

From your description I wonder if it was Barthlott's book with the simple title "Cacti" published in 1979 - it is the only one I can think of that size and at the time quite widely available which covers a wider range of aspects of cacti than others.

Hope that helps

Looks a lot better marquee than they used to have, Stuart. Hope it's air conditioned for your comfort if its as hot over there as here!

Re: Tony Morris RIP

In addition to what Tony did for the society as detailed in the advance notice of the auction of his plants, he was a very kind and helpful person and was keen to support people new to the plants. He will certainly be greatly missed.

Re: Derek Castle

Derek was such an active member of the branch and society, always friendly and helpful, and gave a lot of his time to giving talks to branches. He will be missed greatly. Condolences to his family and colleagues.

I've not listed expensive books on Ebay for a great many years and only put low value oddments there these days so have no experience of best tactics to get high prices for listings. Many people have approached me offering books saying "I see how much these books go for on the net" to whic...
