Re: Rain water collection

I made some using plasticard, small bore pipework and polystyrene cement...took me back to the days of scratch building model aircraft!

Re: Echeveria purpusorum propagation

JP always advises that if you are going to use the leaves from the flower stem you take them off early. I have had some success with E lauii using stem leaves although they are prone to desiccating and would put the success rate at around 25%.

Re: Is rebutia perplexa self furtile? Solved

Agreed Mal. For this reason I discard the mountains of seed the Rebutias produce as there are enough hybrids out there already.

Re: Identifying my Oxalis

Ah, the plant I affectionately know as Derek. Nice idea Mike I might just try to keep one as a Bonsai although it is probably a dangerous precedent to set.....and only for the watchful.

Re: CactusWorld out today

Yes leaflet in mine. It doesn’t mention the bane of my Aeoniums which is vine weevil. One of my largest is currently re rooting following my annual inspection of the contents of the pots. Luckily they always seem to shrug off the root loss by the time they go back out for the summer.

Re: Name that Cactus

I suggest you ask them for a photo of the plant not just a close up of a section of it....

Re: Request for photos

Now that is impressive Phil. I have to say I tend to compost them if they are that badly damaged but will think again in the future. Note to self: remember to apply the summer cloud before the start of May this year.
