Re: bcss reports and figures

Robert, you will be examined on how scholarly your dissertation is, not how original your ideas are. As a university lecturer I will echo Sandi's direct comments and similarly suggest you spend your time on one good idea (you have had several already) and then work on a good plan (essential for all ...

Re: seed germination info needed

Robert, you might find this link to a BCSS article by David Quail useful: http://www.living-rocks.com/quail2.htm [quote=Dave W]If I remember correctly the optimum soil temperature they found for germinating most cactus seed was 23 Centigrade (= 73 Fahrenheit) However, I don't think they did any test...

Re: Shade cloth

Pull yourself together guys ! Net curtains in a greenhouse - even in a cheap plastic greenhouse that is so wrong..... I purchased a 4X3 m shade cloth from B&Q a couple of months ago for 6 quid - I am sure they will still sell it. This served me well when my neighbour cut some trees down that shaded ...

Scorchio! - The wrong kind.

Just when I thought I was getting good at cultivation I go on holiday and return to find a dozen of my cacti scorched in the conservatory. They have been in the same spot for over 5 years without damage and I have holidayed before. So the advice I would like is: 1. Why might I be having this problem...

Re: Ness garden

A few fine cacti went into the annual plant auction at the branch meeting last month.
