I tried grafting when I restarted my seedsowing activities after a long absence, largely in the hope I could raise some plants to maturity in my lifetime. This my most precocious 1 year-old, four offsets and a number of flo...

Re: Conditioning L. Williamsii

A novice grows a single species of cactus in bulk. Of all things, he chooses L williamsii I wonder why? What's not to like? Better, surely, than choosing the less aesthetically pleasing San Pedro cactus? ;-) I hope he is very successful, and invites us all to a trip up to Norfolk in a few ye...

Thanks. I have tried hard to graft the titchy seedlings on Pereskiopsis the last couple of years but failed miserably.
I guess I will have to trust the good Lord to grant me the years ;-)

Re: Lithops Seed Sowings

I had a similar experience with karasmonata Purpur. A few germinated only to perish. I just have one left which, by its size, probably germinated later than the others. Again as encouragement, I left my Lithops sowing until late last year, but the July and August-sown seedlings are doing well. Norma...

Re: Pereskiopsis query

Progress report in pic. The bending continues, probably, with central heating long stopped, putting paid to the idea that heat, rather than light, is the main factor here. I am still surprised at this. Having hacked pereskiopsis for grafting stocks I haven't a full-light outside glasshouse compariso...
