Re: digital thermostatic timer

Both are £200 each. I will spend this if needed due to value of plants but if I can get something else which does the same job for less cash then I will. I agree with Chris, some of these heaters are just overexpensive. What's a heater anyway? Just like a kettle element with a fan behind it. Take t...

Me  when I use it as fan-only summer cooling. I tend to splash around quite a bit when watering.....

Although I agree in principle.

Re: C&S book for beginners

A book I bought recently (because I can't resist an absolute bargain - at around £3 used from Amazon including postage) is The Cactus Handbook by Erik Haustein. It is short on cultivation detail - but then of course the BCSS cultivation leaflets are a good starter. But it has a wealth of excellent p...

Re: Biogreen Phoenix heater

My question is, with the new Phoenix model when use in conjunction with the Biogreen Thermo 2 digistal thermostat, can the fan still run continuously? I am guessing the short answer is no. (I have the same thermostat but different heater). The Biogreen Thermo 2 has just a single outlet power socket...

Ingredient list? :-)

If it's 1936 is it a bit past its sell-by date?

Re: Vote for us.

No matter what is written in the policy GDPR will trump all of it. They are also not allowed to email you if you click unsubscribe. SO they can still flog our details to the US and elsewhere. This is exactly where the Equifax scandal started. Even when in that instance there was no personal disclos...

Re: Vote for us.

I hear what you are saying, but if you look at the privacy policy it is not reassuring. My wife has just been subject to the threat of impersonation through a data leak. I myself already regularly deal with hundreds of incoming emails. I don't want any more. My fear also is that my experience of int...

Re: Pesticide ban?

Again we will have to disagree on this. May I respectfully suggest that you investigate for yourself facts to justify or otherwise what you assert as your "truth". There is much evidence now emerging that your assumed simple correlation between pesticide use yields is fallacious. This is, as often t...

You seem to have bought the agrochemical industry propaganda, Dave. I don't agree.

Re: Pesticide ban?

Surely in this and similar cases it's just a case of economics. It just isn't worth the pharmaceutical industry developing products for limited domestic hobby use, which in any event would be hard legally to define, if exemptions were considered. I would rather have a blanket ban that protected the ...
