Re: 2014 North West Mesemb Show - updated.
Flickr is now free (has been for a while) and provides lots of space with no bandwidth caps if you want an alternative (though they do some processing on the photos they display). They have by far the best tools for tagging, organizing and editing. Though they are owned by Yahoo so perhaps they migh...

Photoset showing the variability of Gasteria bicolor
Cok Grootscholten posted this photoset of his collection of Gasteria bicolor (facebook link). The variability is pretty amazing to see on one easy to view page: https://www.facebook.com/CokGrootscholt ... 928&type=1

I think the idea is that the plant 'wants' to grow new roots and new heads all the time but is stopped from doi...

Re: Haworthia help
I never rested haworthia while I was in the UK because it never got hot enough for summer dormancy to be a big issue.
If you bought them bare root give them a week or two to settle in before watering. If you bought them already potted up - repot them in a mix you control and then wait a week or two.

Re: Price range!
My main reason for disliking perlite is that it helps mealies hide because of the similar colour, size and shape. The Tesco Cat Litter is great because it is a different colour (and floats less). Unfortunately for me, now that I am in America the only molar clay I can find is NAPA auto parts floor d...
