No. Simply saying you don't need others to enjoy the same hobby for you to enjoy it too. If succulent societies lose all members, I will still enjoy my plants. Also if they prosper. So on a side note, if they prosper plant prices will go up (see Ebay) and certain species will be scarce. If they don...

That's like saying puppy farms are a good idea! Mutilation of anything should be actively discouraged. By buying these plants one is encouraging more to disfigure.
