dioscorea ID

I have Dioscorea globosa & hastata seedlings, but I seem to have mixed up the labels because 2 "globosa" plants have very different leaves. One is heart shaped, the other tri-partite. I can't find a description of either. Can anyone tell me which is which? Pictures attached. Mike T She...

Echeveria Lau 165

I acquired a couple of Echeverias last year through the Sedum Society cuttings exchange, with the names Lau 165 & Lau 026. The collection numbers actually relate to cacti (Arequipa & Echinocereus according to Ralph Martin's Field Number Database on the Cactus mall site). Googling for Echever...

Re: RSM damage Solved

I'd go for scorch; RSM tends to go more in the furrows between the ribs, & is surface damage. This is worse on the prominent tops of ribs & looks to be full thickness of the epidermis. No idea on the ID, sorry

Re: HELP

something has damaged it, the brown bit looks to be dead tissue. As long as it doesn't spread, just leave it alone. A scar looks less bad than a hole. If the brown patch is getting bigger, & especially if it's moist/wet rather than dry, then there's fungal infection spreading in the plant and yo...

Re: Hi

The answer is that if the cold frame hasn't been screwed down to the concrete roof it will blow away. If it's been re-glazed after blowing away, and then screwed down, the tops will blow off in high wind if they're not fixed down. Once these minor details are dealt with, it seems OK. I haven't put t...

Re: Hello Everyone. Solved

Hi Is Sheffield as in South Yorkshire? If so, do you know about the Sheffield branch? We meet at the Scout Headquarters in Trippet Lane, in the city centre, at 7.30pm on the 2nd Friday of each month. You should get a warm welcome, but be warned, there are usually plants for sale at very reasonable p...

Re: Hi

Mamm hutchinsoniana lousiae, 2 year old seedling, which matches the fastest I've had any seedlings in flower. By reputation it's not very long-lived, so it seems to want to get a move on.
