Gymnocalycium spegazzinii and Gymnocalycium eurypleurum{?)

Mine still hasn't sent out a vine, just wondering if I should keep it bone dry or maybe water just enough to moisten the top of the compost slightly. I once had a Sinningia which completely dried out and died and I don't want the same thing to happen with the elephantipes.

Still waiting for mine, a bit later this year than in previous years. Nice looking plant, much lighter in colour than my one.

I haven't noticed any insect activity on this plant which is in very close proximity to other Pachypodiums along with other caudiciforms but will certainly look out for that possibility.
