Re: Mesemb Paintings Online
Thanks so much for this link, Derek! As N.D says, the website will keep me busy for a long time, especially as I don't have many mesembs here other than Lithops, for health and other reasons (living in the UK rather than in a mesemb-friendly climate :( ) I did look at the "special" one, an...

Re: New Lithops forum
That's a subject title that I can't ignore :woho: I wasn't a member of the old deleted) forum, never heard of it in fact. Looks as if users of the old forum are being trawled via this excellent BCSS forum - and by other means? there have been various Lithops and Mesembs Yahoo groups, some more activ...

Re: Argos special
Hmmm I suppose the artificial Lithops would not rot!
I see that the seller also offers artificial honesty (Lunaria)
Not sure what this has to do with Argos
I have an artificial prayer plant (Maranta), it's not for sale though!

Re: Just a few Crassulas.
Superb Crassulas, Sylvia!! Many thanks for sharing. Brightens up a chilly or gloomy (depending on where you live) UK January.
One puzzle though... I thought 'Blue Bird' flowered in summer.... not sure where I got that idea, my plant has not yet flowered here.

Re: Seed Distribution
I thought there was some way that BCSS members outside the UK could view the seed list and order online?
Or am I thinking of the MSG (Mesemb Study Group)?

Lithops 'Ian's Green' possibly a hybrid such as x Marmoliva (marmorata x olivacea, I made some of those here, years ago)

Re: hello everybody
Chris has done a good summary. Like! ... a plant labeled 'rescued plant form Highway XY' offered for sale. That could be a way to minimize impact of infrastructure, if potentially threatened plants would be previously gathered, quantified and distributed to ensure their survival and propagation. Fo...

Re: Floods in the Karoo
This is a very interesting and exciting thread for UK armchair travellers to follow, especially this English adrophile who will never be able to visit SA for health reasons :( Very best wishes for your trip, Iain - with Derek as your home contact you will go far, I'm sure! (It says something very po...
