Re: ID please
I used to grow Hildewintera Aureispina which I think is also seen as Cleistocactus Winteri but usually the flowers are more spaced out along the older growth and just on one side of the stem rather than all around recent growth. Any chance of a photo of the open flowers. If not Hildewintera then pro...

Re: Sedum for id
I'm not quite sure it could be called herbaceous as it doesn't all vanish underground for the winter. The whole plant gives the impression that it has died but each stem dies back to a tight rosette at soil level. Those rosettes open up again the following year to become the stems as shown on the ph...

Re: ariocarus eruptions
It's either grafted or has been at some time, a bit like some of the ELK ones that are wrongly thought of as habitat plants. Grafting, depending on the stock used, will often make offsets occur on plants that are usually solitary. It will also make Arios taller than they would be or their own roots....

Re: Lithops x Dinterops colourful assortment
DSCF5986.JPG That was Steve's label, I seem to remember him saying the Dinteranthus was originally classified as a Lithops, so maybe less of an intergeneric cross if the Dinteranthus had been left with its original name. I asked for two as I liked the idea of a Lithops cross, Steve chose the two re...

Sounds like a title and lyrics from a Morrissey song.

Lithops x Dinterops colourful assortment
I saw these pots of Lithops seedlings last year just labelled as Lithops Lesliei Albinica x Dinterops. DSCF5987.JPG DSCF5989.JPG strangely, only one kept the Lesliei Albinica yellow colour, the rest were a rainbow mix of reds and browns. DSCF2272.JPG I've just two of them in the collection, I don't ...

Re: Very successful germination rate!
There's a machine in Holland that sows Lithops seeds, one seed at a time.

Re: Sansevierias in Garden Centres
Thanks for the info Ralph, looking at those two plants on Google, they look like the same plants to me. The same thing seems to happen with Agaves in the US, they pick a plant that is hardly any different to the species and give it a fancy name along with plant breeders rights. In Holland, the same ...

Re: Adromischus Immaculatus or is it?
Thanks Chris, not sure why my post took about ten minutes to appear. I'm impressed with the identification from shrivelled leaves, it's tricky enough for the rest of us with identification from normal leaves.
