Croston Cactus at Easter

I'm sure that I read somewhere that Croston Cactus were open over the four days of Easter, but I can't find the reference. Anyone know if its right and what time they open?

Is chinosol bad for germination?

Having just sown a bunch of Rebutia and others, soaking the compost in chinosol and spreaying after sowing, I read in a BCSS posting (Surrey I think) that chinosol inhibited germination. I've just seen the same thing in a book by Tony Mace. So does it? After a week, I have some cleistocactus jujuyen...

First two days were lovely, and Monacoc was nice and warm (19C). Then it went off a bit, down to 15C and cloudy. That was the weekend it went really cold here (16 - 21 March).

A visit to Monaco

I was in Nice last week and took the opportunity to visit the Jardin Exotique in Monaco. Lots of Cactii, Euphorbias and others. Some pics follow. This fellow was about a foot across:
